Barnabus is a Christian Homeless Charity, providing a lifeline to the homeless in Manchester for over 30 years.

We provide practical help and opportunities for accommodation, rehabilitation, healthcare, and employment opportunities. We also offer a range of creative and inspiring activities, volunteering, and mentoring to build confidence and skills.

Drop-In

At the Beacon Support Centre, 45 Bloom Street, M1 3LY, we offer morning drop-in sessions between 9:15am- 12pm (Mon-Thurs).

Alongside access to showers and clean clothing, during morning drop-in sessions, you can also gain access to medical care with an NHS nurse, mental health support and drug and alcohol support.

Specific dates and times for these services are as follows:

  • 'NHS nurse drop in' - between 9:15am-12pm on Mondays and Thursdays.
  • 'CGL Drug and Alcohol drop in' - between 10am-12pm on Tuesdays and between 7:30am-12pm on Thursdays
  • 'Mental Health Support drop in' - between 9:30am-12pm on Wednesdays.

Personal Services

Anyone in need of a shower or set of clean clothing can come in and see us Monday to Thursday. No appointment needed.

Recovery Group

We hold a recovery group every Tuesday between 1:30pm-2:30pm at the Beacon Support Centre.

Our recovery group is an important part of the journey off the streets. For those dealing with addiction, it’s a chance to talk about their experiences with peers in a safe, welcoming space. No therapists, no judgement, just a place to share.

The Light Session

Our Light sessions provide a safe space for anyone seeking healing through prayer, conversation, and support.

These sessions take place every Thursday between 12:30pm-2:00pm at the Beacon Support Centre.
